Sheryl Peris is a Global Health (Honours BSc) candidate at York University. Under the supervision of Dr. Shital Desai at the Social and Technological Systems Lab, her research explores the role of human-centred design and accessibility in enhancing communication outcomes from a global health perspective. She is actively engaged in literature analysis and knowledge synthesis to support the development of assistive technologies that promote inclusive communication.

Her current focus is on communication interventions to improve social connectedness among people living with dementia. Through a synthesis of evidence-based strategies, she aims to inform the design of innovative, scalable solutions that foster more equitable and meaningful communication across diverse populations.
