Website Updates: Two weeks remaining before shifting to the new calendar plugin

Website Updates: Two weeks remaining before shifting to the new calendar plugin

As shared on March 8, 2022 (see previous announcement) part of our ongoing maintenance and website development, we will be retiring the old events plugin (The Events Calendar) and transitioning to a new one (The Modern Events Calendar) that is currently used by the Central Events Calendar. The old plugin will retire on June 8, 2022. We are in the final stretch of the transition period (March - May) where all website owners using local events will need to shift to the new plugin.

At this time as a website owner, you should have decided if you want to have local events (events that are exclusively housed on your website) or global events (events that are housed on the Central Events Calendar events.yorku.ca that feeds events to display on your website) as each setup will require a different process. If you are interested in learning more about leveraging central events, please visit this page to learn more: https://events.yorku.ca/instructions-on-how-to-add-an-event-to-the-central-events-calendar/ If you are doing local events, you will just need to activate the new plugin and add the events to the new setup as well as change the modules.

If you have any issues before this launch, please reach out to the Digital Team at cpadigit@yorku.ca or join our weekly drop-in session taking place every Wed. at 1:30 pm. Details here: LINK
