Application Cancellation

If a student wishes to cancel their application, they must do so in writing by submitting the Application Cancellation Form.
*Every residence application MUST be accompanied by the $150 application fee. Students who cancel their application prior to receiving a housing offer will receive a $100 refund.

For students wishing to cancel their application at our Glendon campus, please complete the Glendon Residence Application form.

Early Withdrawal
If a student would like to withdraw from their contract early, please submit the Early Withdrawal from.

Inventory and Room Condition Report

The inventory and room condition report must be filled out within 72-hours after your move-in day. The report will appear in your Housing Services portal within 24-hours of move-in.

Maintenance Request

Maintenance/pest concerns must be reported to Housing & Conference Services promptly. By submitting this form, the resident gives permission to Housing & Conference Services staff personnel or authorized contractors to enter their unit to conduct the required repairs/service. Work orders will be addressed in priority order.

For emergency maintenance issues, such as flooding, overflowing toilets or leaks, please do not fill out this form. Instead, contact Housing & Conference Services directly at 416-736-5339 during office hours or Security Services at 416-650-8000 during after hours.
If this is an emergency during Housing office hours, report it to your Housing Complex Office immediately. If this is an emergency outside of Housing office hours, please contact your Don-on-Duty.

Lost/Broken Key Request

This form is to request a replacement set of keys if you have lost them or if your keycard is broken/not working. Keys will be replaced during regular business hours.

Emergency lockout requests outside of office hours should be submitted to Security Services at 416-650-8000 or Residence Life.
Charges may apply for lost keys, which will be posted to the resident's student account.

Residence Transfer Request

Considering moving to another room/unit due to any circumstance? Residents may apply to be on the Transfer Waitlist by submitting this form. As Undergraduate Residences are consistently full throughout the year, transfer approvals are not guaranteed. Upon approval, a $100 Fee will be assessed on the resident's Student Account.

Intercom Registration Request

Assiniboine and Atkinson residents can grant their guests building entry though their mobile phones using the intercom system. To register, please complete and submit the Intercom Registration Form.

Resident Concern

Residents who wish to report a concern or issue (noise, smoking, garbage, or resident/staff conduct) they are experiencing can do so by filling a Resident Concern Form with as many details included as possible. Please access the online Resident Concern form here.

York Apartment Inventory List

The York Apartments Inventory List needs to be completed and submitted within 72 hours of your move-in day. It will be live on the Housing & Conference Services portal within 24 hours of your move-in.

Maintenance Request

If something in your unit or building requires attention, please submit an online Maintenance Request Form.
We will respond during our regular hours of operation, Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 4:00pm. Please note, we are closed on all University holidays. Maintenance requests will be addressed based on priority and urgency of the repair. 

EMERGENCY REPAIRS: If this is an after-hours or weekend repair request that is considered an emergency, please contact Security Services at 416-650-8000. Emergency repairs include major floods, broken windows or doors, loss of heating or cooling, loss of water (hot or cold) or other major repairs that cause immediate risk to tenants or property. 

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: Upon submitting your maintenance request, please perform a self-assessment using the COVID-19 screening questionnaire. If you are unable to vacate your unit during the repair, you will be required to wear a mouth and nose covering at all times. Please ensure the space is clean and free of objects that would prevent the repair from being completed. You must maintain appropriate physical distancing at all times.

Please note that only the leaseholder can submit the Lost/Broken Key Request Form. Registered sharers or guests are not permitted to submit a Lost/Broken Key Request Form for lost keys on the leaseholder's behalf. Registered sharers ARE permitted to submit a Lost/Broken Key Request Form for broken keycards.

Charges may apply for lost keys, which will be posted to the leaseholder's student account.

Application to Re-Assign Unit to A Sharer Form

Residents who wish to apply to re-assign their current apartment to a qualified registered sharer may apply using this form. Please print, sign and submit the form via email to apstatus@yorku.ca. Upon approval, a $100 Fee will be assessed on the leaseholder's Student Account.

Apartment Transfer Request Form

Considering moving to another apartment due to any circumstance? Residents may apply to be on the Transfer Waitlist by submitting this form. As York Apartments are consistently full throughout the year, transfer approvals are not guaranteed. Availability is pending and the wait periods may be longer than anticipated. Upon approval, a $100 Fee will be assessed on the leaseholder's Student Account.

Application to Sublease Form

During the Summer months (May-August) when residents are not attending classes, they may apply to temporarily vacate their unit and sublease to another qualified York University student. *Once approved, the resident still assumes full responsibility of the unit during the sublease period. Please print, sign and submit the form via email to apstatus@yorku.ca. Upon approval, a $100 Fee will be assessed on the leaseholder's Student Account.

N11 Agreement to Terminate Tenancy Form

When planning to move out, residents must provide Housing & Conference Services with a written notice. The N11 Agreement to Terminate Tenancy Form contains specific guidelines on how and when residents should notify Housing & Conference Services of their intention to vacate.
