International Biochemistry of Exercise Conference 2022

The International Biochemistry of Exercise Conference (IBEC) is a unique event in the world of science. The first conference was held in 1968 and second in 1973. Thereafter, every three years exercise scientists, whose passion is exercise biochemistry and in other new disciplines, such as exercise molecular biology, exercise “omics”, and exercise health, met somewhere in the world to exchange scientific presentations and ideas. IBEC is unique in that various small groups of people volunteer to organize, administrate, and raise funds travel for their selected program of speakers to their home city. The 18th IBEC in Toronto will follow in the footsteps of the previous 17 conferences.

12th Meeting of the Canadian Oxidative Stress Consortium (COSC) 2025

The Oxidative Stress Consortium aims at advancement of research and education in oxidative stress in health and disease. Initiated in July 1999, it consists of researchers from 40 labs from 15 universities in Canada. Its goal is to foster research collaboration among these labs, to provide better training opportunities for students and postdoctoral fellows working in them and to foster closer ties between its members and the pharmaceutical industry.

Aurora Murine Muscle Mechanics Workshop at York University

Hosted at the Muscle Health Research Centre at York University, and produced in partnership with Aurora Scientific, our Murine Muscle Mechanics Workshop integrates fundamentals of muscle physiology and mechanics as well as hands-on laboratory training in multiple functional assays. This program is designed to impart preclinical researchers with the necessary knowledge and techniques to effectively measure and interpret muscle mechanics and functional outcomes in murine models.
