CIKL Centre Coordinator

The Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Languages (that’s us!) is hiring a contract full-time Centre Coordinator. This is a research administration position, responsible for supporting the Director and Associate Directors as well as coordinating community outreach programs, administering awards and the administration of financial reports.

Canada Research Chair – Technoscience and Indigenous Communities (Associate/Full Professor), York University

The School of Health Policy & Management and the School of Nursing, in the Faculty of Health at York University invites highly qualified applicants for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) at the rank of an Associate/Full Professor position in Technoscience and Indigenous Communities. This is a tenure-track appointment to the Professorial Stream to commence January 1, 2024.

Tenure Track Appointment in Indigenous Health (Trent University)

Trent University invites applications for a tenure track appointment in the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor level commencing July 1, 2024. This position is located at Trent’s Peterborough campus and is subject to budgetary approval. As a multi-disciplinary Indigenous Studies program entering its second half century, the Chanie Wenjack School brings together knowledge and perspectives from many disciplines to engage in informed and grounded dialogue, discussion, and research. The Department of Visual Art and Art History in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design of York University invites highly qualified applicants for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in Contemporary Indigenous Art. The Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program seeks to attract outstanding researchers for careers at Canadian universities. Tier 2 Chairs are intended for exceptional emerging scholars who have the acknowledged potential to lead their field of research. This is a tenure-track appointment to the Professorial Stream to commence July 1, 2024.

York Indigenous Research Seed Fund

The York Indigenous Research Seed Fund is intended to support foundational and pilot research leading to larger and/or continuing projects. This fund is intended to support Indigenous scholars, especially early career researchers (ECR) who may have a project in a development phase and require funds to generate preliminary results, as well as those with a fully defined project.

Administrative Assistant to the Vice & Associate Directors, Connected Minds

The Administrative Assistant plays an integral role supporting the operations of the new Connected Minds program, by providing dedicated efficient, professional, and confidential support to the program Vice Director and Associate Director related to both the Connected Minds program and other related research and admin undertaken by Directors. The role will be a key liaison between Vice and Associate Director to students, faculty, staff and high-level internal and external contacts to facilitate program activities. As the first point of contact to the Vice and Associate Directors, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for assessing the importance and urgency of issues that arise and determining the best course of action in addressing the issues, triaging where necessary. The incumbent must be a quick learner and able to adapt in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. The Administrative Assistant will play an active role towards contributing to Connected Minds’ commitment in supporting equity, diversity and inclusion.
