Toronto Police Services (TPS) has advised of an off-campus assault that occurred on Wednesday, July 27 at approximately 10 a.m. A community member was walking along Black Creek Trail when they noticed an individual with a dog on the trail as well. The community member passed the individual and was then struck once on the head with a stick causing injury. No interaction had occurred prior to the assault. TPS was notified and an investigation commenced.
York University was recently notified and as the suspect is still outstanding, our Community Safety department is recommending that community members exercise heightened awareness when using the trail and walk with a friend, if possible.
The suspect is described as:
Male, 6 to 6' 3" tall, skinny build, bald. Last seen wearing a black polo, blue jeans, wearing a blue medical mask. The suspect was walking an unleashed white dog.
