Automotive Innovation Challenge
The Automotive Innovation Challenge (AIC) is an immersive hackathon designed to engage post-secondary students in tackling real-world challenges within Ontario’s automotive and mobility sector. In partnership with SmartTO and Centennial College and sponsored by Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN), this two-week sprint brings together students, startups, and industry leaders to drive innovation, enhance talent development, and foster networking opportunities.

Who is this program for?
The Automotive Innovation Challenge is open to undergraduate and graduate students from any Canadian university who are passionate about innovation in automotive and smart mobility. Whether you’re from engineering, computer science, business, or design, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience, build your network, and make an impact in the future of mobility.
What to expect
Participants will have the opportunity to tackle real-world challenges, working on industry-sponsored problem statements that focus on key areas such as mobility, EV adoption, AI in transportation, and sustainability. Along the way, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience through design thinking workshops, prototyping sessions, and personalized mentorship from industry professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity to network with automotive companies, startups, and investors, while competing for top prizes that offer both industry recognition and exclusive networking opportunities.
