Master of Arts degree (non-thesis) with the undergraduate Athletic Therapy Certification (ATC)
The Master of Arts degree (non-thesis) with the undergraduate Athletic Therapy Certification (ATC) offers simultaneous completion of a coursework only Master degree with ATC. To be eligible to apply, applicants must have successfully completed an honours undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education. The ATC is an undergraduate certificate accredited through the Canadian Athletic Therapists’ Association, and is designed specifically for students who wish to become Certified Athletic Therapists. The program is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Frances Flint. This program is designed for full-time students only, and cannot be taken on a part-time basis. Degree Requirements
In addition to the regulations of the Faculty of Graduate Studies pertaining to all Master's degrees, candidates for the Master of Arts degree (non-thesis) with the undergraduate Athletic Therapy Certification (ATC) in Kinesiology and Health Science are required to complete the following:
- One of either Univariate (KAHS 6010 3.0) or Multivariate (KAHS 6020 3.0) statistics;
- Graduate seminar (KAHS 6210 3.0);
- Practica (KAHS 5400 6.0 and KAHS 5410 6.0);
- Five half course electives from within the Kinesiology and Health Science graduate course offerings. At least one and a half (or equivalent) courses must not be integrated with an undergraduate course.
- In addition to the Master degree program requirements, students will enrol in undergraduate courses required for the Athletic Therapy Certification.
Applicants applying to the Master of Arts degree (non-thesis) with the undergraduate Athletic Therapy Certification (ATC) program MUST also:
- Submit a separate Athletic Therapy Certificate (ATC) application.
