The Violence Prevention series is designed to align with Bill 168 to ensure all employees have a strong foundational knowledge and skill base to support a safe and respectful workplace.

To ensure that the University complies with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005, everyone who interacts on its behalf with the public must be trained in accessible customer service. This training requirement applies to all faculty, staff, student leaders, managers, department heads and senior administrators.

The Wellness @ Work series covers various topics that promote health and well-being, and work life balance.
Presented in collaboration with the Employee Well-Being Office, the wellness series also highlights the benefits of and suggestions on how to use to use the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and resources.

Movies provide an excellent alternate learning medium on a wide range of topics. Learning and Organizational Development continues to host a monthly learning session where a selected movie will be viewed. Each video is followed by a facilitated discussion.

| Speakers Series |
As part of our commitment to provide leaders at York with leading edge information to support the development of key skills and attributes, Learning and Organizational Development will continue to host a monthly Speakers Series. The monthly sessions kick off with refreshments and an opportunity to network with colleagues, followed by an hour and a half-long presentation delivered by professionals with expertise in their field of knowledge.

| Onboarding Manager Program |
The Onboarding Manager Program is a comprehensive program to integrate all newly hired internal or external managerial positions within the first 90 days of their careers at York University. Managers are oriented to the policies, processes, culture and expectations through a series of resources and learning events including a checklist, an assigned peer buddy, a customized Onboarding Learning Calendar, opportunities to network and regularly-scheduled meetings with their manager.

| Employee Relations Skills Development Workshops (ER Connections) |
ER Connections are monthly hosted interactive discussion sessions with people leaders and employee relations personnel. In these sessions dialogue and problem solving take place on specific collective agreement articles and just-in-time issues.

Manager U at York
|
Manager U at York is a program designed for all CPM people managers with more than a year of experience in this role. This nine month program is designed to include a cohort of people managers to foster a common management philosophy and set of management competencies. By participating in this program, managers will continue to feel supported in working towards their full potential in their role. |
