Important changes for Students purchasing TTC Metropasses
Effective September 2010, TTC will be selling the TTC metropasses to University/College students at the 'student rate' for $99/month. Students will now be able to conveniently purchase them from any TTC ticket agent. In order to be eligible, students must obtain the TTC photo identification card in order to purchase the metropass at the student rate. Please note, the Parking & Transportation office will continue to sell TTC metropasses to faculty and staff, however, will no longer sell the TTC metropasses to students.

TTC Metropasses - Advisory Notice Parking & Transportation Services purchases the TTC metropasses through the Volume Incentive Program (VIP) with the TTC. The program has a price structure based on the quantities ordered, and a cost penalty for any unsold and returned passes. As a result of a decrease in the demand from Faculty and Staff for the Summer months, our price has increased to $108/month (effective for June 2011 TTC Metropasses). Staff & Faculty Discounted TTC Metropasses
TTC monthly Metropasses are sold for $112.50 (new rate effective, January 2012) which is at a discounted rate of approximately 11% off the regular price of $126.00 per month. Passes are available at the Parking and Transportation office, located at 222 William Small Centre, to any current Staff or Faculty member. Please note that interested staff/faculty must provide photo I.D. (i.e. driver's license, passport, or health card) and a current Employee pay stub or Sunlife Member card , in order to confirm York University status. These passes will not be sold to unaffiliated York University members. Passes are available while quantities last. For more information, please call 416.736.5335 or or e-mail transit@yorku.ca.
On-Line TTC Metropass Renewals
COST: $112.50 per calendar month while quantities last.
To be eligible to renew your TTC Metropass online you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a current staff or faculty member of York University with a valid Passport York Account
- You must have purchased one TTC Metropass in person from Parking & Transportation Services
Payment may be made on-line by Visa, MasterCard or Amex
TTC Metropasses may be picked up at Keele Campus from Parking & Transportation Services located in Room 222 in the William Small Centre or at the Glendon Parking Office located at the Glendon Greenhouse, during regular business hours. You may choose to have your TTC Metropass mailed to your home or local address. Lost or stolen TTC Metropasses cannot be replaced by our office but can be obtained through regular TTC outlets for the standard TTC price. Parking and Transportation Services will not be responsible for any TTC Metropasses that are lost in the mail.

TTC Metropass online purchases will be sold on the following dates. Dates will change to accommodate mailing time but will be posted with notice prior to sale dates.

Federal Tax Credit Information
To support a claim for the Federal Tax Credit, you must retain your monthly Metropass as a receipt. For additional information on how to claim the tax credit for public transit passes, please see the Canada Revenue Agency website: www.cra-arc.gc.ca.
Procedures for York University Students to obtain a TTC photo identification Card to Purchase
Post-Secondary Student TTC Metropasses:
- Students must pre-register at the Data Card website.

- Obtain your photo identification.
You must bring the following items to the Sherbourne Subway Station when going to get your identification card:
- Data Card pre-registration form (see step 1 for details).
- Your York University student card.
- A printed copy of your course timetable to prove full-time student status.
- $7 cash, exact change – no debit or credit cards.
The TTC Sherbourne Station Photo ID Centre's hours of operation are Monday-Friday 3-7 p.m.and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (closed Sundays and Statutory Holidays).
