Internationalized Student Learning Outcomes: Incorporating Global Health competencies into HH/NURS 4546: Global Context of Nursing

Description

As part of York University’s Academic Plan, the University is currently reviewing their internationalization activities and objectives including internalization of the curriculum. Internationalising the curriculum involves providing students with global perspectives of their discipline and giving them a broader knowledge base for their future careers.

Internationalizing the student learning outcomes of HH/NURS 4546: Global Context of Nursing by aligning these learning outcomes with the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) interprofessional global health competencies is a logical first step in course-level curriculum internationalization.

This course specific project of incorporating interprofessional global health competencies into HH/NURS 4546: Global Context of Nursing will provide a process for internationalizing the nursing program curriculum. Internationalizing the BScN nursing program curriculum will help to ensure future nurses are knowledgeable global citizens and collaborative global health practitioners.
