Pedagogical & EDI Training for Teaching Assistants in the Arts

Description

This project will develop a customizable, asynchronous TA training course for graduate students working as teaching assistants across the university. Rather than moving TAs through generic training, this course will present an individualized development plan via customizable modules, providing students with course specific training maintained by the Teaching Commons.

The content of the modules will cover the practicalities of working at York along with general teaching, eClass and EDI support and training. It will also include studio specific training for courses within AMPD. TAs will be paid to complete this training through the 5-hour allotment currently in the collective agreement, associated with the Record of Completion Certificate in the Teaching Commons.
