Crowd First Symposium on Crowd Management and Safety in Mass Gatherings Speaker Application

With Toronto hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, the critical importance of crowd safety at mega-events has never been more visible. To address these complex operational and urban challenges, CIFAL York and ADERSIM Lab, in partnership with the AIM Lab at the University of Toronto and the RAIL Lab at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology invite you to submit a presentation application for the inaugural Symposium on Crowd Management and Safety in Mass Gatherings.

This public event bridges cutting-edge scientific research, simulation, and operational practice. We are seeking abstract submissions that offer actionable insights, case studies, or advanced risk assessment tools in key areas such as crowd dynamics, behavioral modeling, transportation mobility, and multi-agency communication.

We welcome proposals from a diverse, multidisciplinary community, including faculty members, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, public safety and emergency response professionals, policy makers, and NGO representatives. Whether you are an academic pioneering new modeling frameworks or an on-the-ground practitioner with field-tested lessons learned, your expertise is vital to transforming operational vulnerabilities into highly coordinated safety measures.

Please complete the application form below to submit your presentation proposal. The deadline for all submissions is July 31st. Join us in shaping safer, more resilient, and inclusive environments for mass gatherings worldwide.
