Course Description

Offered by CIFAL York, this virtual micro-course provides an in-depth overview of effective stakeholder engagement, led by industry expert Dr. Shaloma Gauthier. It is designed for Master's students, professionals, and researchers seeking to enhance their skills in building and managing crucial stakeholder relationships. The program equips participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of stakeholder engagement within various professional contexts.

The curriculum is structured to build a comprehensive understanding, from foundational concepts to practical application. Participants will learn how to identify stakeholders, develop effective communication management plans, and build trust-based relationships. The curriculum also delves into crafting adaptable engagement plans and provides insights into participatory practices within economic development. Instructor: Dr. Shaloma Gauthier

Dr. Shaloma Gauthier is an experienced distinguished leader in the Ontario Public Service, currently serving as Executive Advisor to the Deputy Minister at the Ontario Ministry of Red Tape Reduction. With a proven track record of leading complex multi-stakeholder initiatives, Shaloma has overseen high-performing teams, developed innovative outreach strategies, and led missions to France, Belgium, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Morocco.

Shaloma holds a PhD in International History and Politics from the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her multidisciplinary research has spanned global institutions such as the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Rockefeller Institute.

Shaloma has designed professional development programs for government employees and has served on the Board of Directors for the Alliance Française in Toronto.
