About AI4PEP
The Global South Artificial Intelligence for Pandemic Preparedness and Response (AI4PEP) Network is a strategic initiative dedicated to harnessing artificial intelligence to strengthen health systems, promote ethical governance, and drive inclusive development across the Global South. Hosted by York University, AI4PEP brings together an interdisciplinary team of data scientists, public health professionals, physicists, mathematicians, and community leaders. We advance AI-powered solutions that enhance epidemic preparedness & response, global health resilience, equity, and innovation.
Role Overview
As a Volunteer, you will play a key role in amplifying AI4PEP’s mission through compelling storytelling, strategic outreach, and digital engagement. You’ll help shape our voice across platforms, support campaigns, and connect with diverse audiences worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and schedule content for AI4PEP’s social media channels (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Assist in drafting newsletters, blog posts, and press releases
- Support the planning and promotion of webinars, workshops, and events
- Monitor engagement metrics and suggest improvements
- Help maintain and update website content
- Contribute to the development of communication strategies and toolkits
- Collaborate with other volunteers and team members across time zones
- Support AI4PEP Student Collective activities on AI4Health initiatives
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 3rd year undergraduate program or higher (graduate students welcome)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient with social media platforms and digital tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress)
- Interest in AI, ethics, global health and sustainable development.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Creative mindset and attention to detail
