SCOLAPS offers a number of opportunities for LA&PS students interested in joining our team. To become a council member, you must complete an online membership form containing your name, student number, program of study, year of graduation and email address, in addition to a list of SCOLAPS positions you have an interest in. After we review your information, we will send a response.
Positions include:

- Standing Committee Representatives;
- Faculty Council Representatives;
- Senate positions;
- Academic Honesty Hearing Representatives;
- Volunteer positions;

Be informed about governance issues that affect your student experience at York
Develop leadership and interpersonal skills in professional and collegial
environments
Engage with professors via committees and council meetings
Connect with other student leaders within the Faculty
Assist in facilitating events, networking opportunities and workshops
Being part of SCOLAPS has let me support students while building leadership and communication skills. It’s a place to learn about yourself and work with others toward real change. I recommend getting involved and am always open to share more about our roles.
