Indigenous Climate Futures: Project Team and Special Thanks

Dr. Angele Alook
Angele (she/hers) is Cree from Bigstone Cree Nation. To connect with the Land, she likes being on the reserve with her kids, where, as a family, they go berry-picking and enjoy the beach. She also likes hiking in Edmonton's river valley and Toronto's Don Valley with her family.

Dr. Graeme Reed
Graeme (he/him) is of mixed Anishinaabe (Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory), English, Scottish, and German ancestry. He loves hiking and being on the water, exploring new places and new smells.

Lydia Reid Johnson
Lydia (she/hers), a community-based researcher, is of mixed Italian and Cree ancestry and is a member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. Her favourite ways to connect with the Land are foraging for mushrooms and berries with her family in the summer/fall and cross-country skiing in the winter. Lydia also has a love for nibi (water) and loves to spend time in, on or near water all year round.

Adrienne Young
Adrienne (she/hers), a Graduate Research Assistant, is of mixed Scottish, Irish, and Chippewa ancestry and is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chipppewa Indians. Her favourite way to connect with the Land is through long walks - whether through the ravines near her home in Toronto, hiking with her dad around the San Francisco Bay Area where she grew up, or exploring the beautiful coastal and forest trails in her favourite places in British Columbia.

Ana del Almeida Cardoso
Ana Carolina de Almeida Cardoso (she/hers), a Graduate Research Assistant, is a non-Indigenous Brazilian from Nheterõîa (Niterói). She feels most connected when in the water, especially swimming in the ocean. Being from the Rio de Janeiro area, she grew up learning that "o mar cura tudo" (the sea heals everything).
