With November being Community Safety Month, CSD is hosting Community Safety Month Activities on November 17-21 which focuses on promoting safety awareness, fostering community engagement, and providing resources and support to address safety concerns. During this week, a range of activities and workshops are organized to engage students, faculty, and staff members.

We’ll be tabling at all three campus locations to share more information about the department and offer tips on maintaining personal safety.

In addition, community partners will be present to help students, staff, and faculty learn about safety resources available both on and around each campus.

Glendon – Monday November 17 10-2pm The Centre of Excellence (North Corridor and Lobby Area)

Markham – Tuesday November 18 @ 10 am- 2pm The Atrium Lobby

Building Capacity and Empowering Safety Awareness on Campus

Join us for an interactive session focused on strengthening community safety through education, collaboration, and trauma-informed engagement. Learn how Community Safety is building capacity to support individuals experiencing homelessness and complex mental health challenges, while empowering staff, students, and faculty to respond with compassion and awareness. This training will equip participants with practical tools to recognize signs of distress, respond safely, and connect with campus resources — fostering a safer, more inclusive campus for all.
