Our records show that you are exclusively enrolled in online and remote courses for Winter 2022 and have provided proof of partial vaccination on YU Screen. Please take the following actions to comply with York University’s Vaccination Mandate. 

Please continue to follow the guidelines from your doctor or medical professional, and upload proof of your second dose on YU Screen as soon as possible. If your proof of vaccination will not be available until after Jan. 31, contact your Faculty Designate to inform them of your situation and the appointment date of your second dose for their records. 

A dedicated York community vaccination clinic will run from Jan. 10 to 28 at the Keele campus. More information about the clinic can be found on the Better Together website.

Students who are exclusively enrolled in online and remote courses are not at risk of de-enrolment. However, it is essential for the University to maintain health and safety on our campuses and to provide assurance to all York community members that we are able to verify the vaccination status of all those who are, or may be, attending our campuses.

Do not come to campus for any reason unless you provide proof of full vaccination on YU Screen. If you fail to comply with this prohibition, your conduct will be addressed through procedures set out in the Code of Student Rights & Responsibilities.

BACKGROUND

Effective September 7, 2021, the University established a COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate (the “Policy”) pursuant to the instructions of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and the recommendations of the Council of Ontario Medical Officers of Health. The University is statutorily required to ensure compliance with this Policy. The Policy was updated on October 25, 2021, to include the Winter 2022 term.

Pursuant to the Policy, you must have disclosed your vaccination status on YU Screen by November 8, 2021. In order to attend in-person activities and to have continued access to campus during the Winter 2022 term, you were required to submit proof through YU Screen by December 1, 2021 that (a) you are Fully Vaccinated within the meaning of the Policy; or (b) York has granted you an exemption from the requirement to be Fully Vaccinated. 

York University’s vaccination mandate for the Winter 2022 term was communicated on or about October 27, 2021, November 5, 2021, November 8, 2021, November 19, 2021, and November 23, 2021.
