Intern

Jules (she/her) is a product designer and creative technologist currently involved as a digital media and communications lead for the SSHIFTB network. Her foundation lies in digital media arts with the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University. She has a multidisciplinary research background in human-centered design, emerging technologies, and human computer interaction, with published works at conferences including ACM CHI, AGE-WELL NCE, and HASTACS. She was also the recipient of NSERC's USRA during her second year as a digital media student.
Apart from research, she's worked as a product and web designer at Engaged Communities Canada, a local non-profit researching food insecurity and food justice impacting refugees and immigrants in Toronto. She hopes to leverage both her technical and creative strengths to solve community problems, or craft digital experiences that showcase meaningful human stories.
