Development of a Ghana-Canada Global Health Research Partnership

Development of a Ghana-Canada Global Health Research Partnership

Post

Published on March 29, 2018

Held on March 29, the forum brought together academics interested in Ghana with an opportunity to network and discuss research interests that may lead to Ghana-Canada research collaborations.

This forum was sponsored by York’s Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research (DIGHR), which has recently undertaken to serve as a “hub” for an emerging Ghana-Canada Research Partnership, under the auspices of the Canadian Coalition for Global Health Research (CCGHR) [www.ccghr.ca/].

A York team (Joseph Mensah, Chair, Department of Geography; Beryl Pilkington; and Julie Hard, Man ager, International Relations, Faculty of Health) will be visiting several universities in Ghana from April 14 – 30th.  As participants in the Ghana-Canada Research Partnership, the team will relay information about York academics’ interest in, or current collaborations with existing and prospective partners in Ghana.

The DIGHR wishes our colleagues a wonderful trip in developing an institution-to-institution partnership between York U and the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, Volta Region.[www.uhas.edu.gh/].
