
Deborah Agyapong is an incoming PhD student in Global Health at York University with a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental health. She holds an MSc in Geoinformation Science and has over four years of experience in GIS, spatial analysis, and geospatial data management. Deborah currently serves as a GIS Officer at the Ghana Statistical Service and is a Research Associate at the Global and Environmental Health Lab.
Her doctoral research focuses on developing early warning systems to predict climate-exacerbated diseases in informal urban settlements, with an emphasis on advancing health equity through geospatial technologies and climate-informed public health decision-making.
Her broader research interests include planetary health, climate change digital health innovation, and the application of GIS to improve population health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.
