Mohiul completed his doctoral program in Health at York University in Toronto. In addition to his doctorate, he holds a medical degree and has international experience as a medical graduate. After earning his medical degree, he joined a renowned UN-based research institution, where he contributed to numerous research projects focusing on global health. His research spans multiple disciplines, resulting in a substantial number of articles published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, Expert Review of Vaccines, and the Journal of Infectious Diseases. Furthermore, his master’s degree in public health has deepened his commitment to health research.
Mohiul has experience in every stage of the research process, from generating ideas and collaborating with colleagues to writing protocols, preparing clinical record forms (CRFs) and questionnaires, coordinating studies in both hospital and community settings, conducting follow-ups, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts to disseminate research findings. At York University, he was responsible for teaching and grading undergraduate courses.
As a KITE Research Trainee at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, affiliated with the University of Toronto, Mohiul developed expertise in evidence synthesis and multivariate analysis. He conducted systematic reviews focused on rehabilitation and secondary prevention for patients in low- and middle-income countries, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex research landscapes and generate actionable insights. He is proficient in statistical software, including SPSS, R, and RevMan.
During his doctoral studies at York, Mohiul acquired specialized knowledge in public health with a focus on epidemiology, including multivariate analyses and various modeling techniques. He is also familiar with mixed-method research, including the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data using NVivo. Mohiul has experience working with various local and international funding agencies, including CIHR, SSHRC, NIH, Wellcome Trust, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
