On Feb. 8, York announced a new partnership with Nottawasaga Futures and the South Simcoe Economic Alliance to create the South Simcoe Green Economy Transition Centre  for innovative research and training in Innisfil’s New Town Hall to help businesses support a greener economy.

"The time has come that we all need to do things differently. Green is the only way to go," Tom Walsh, mayor of Adjala-Tosorontio, told the Bradford West Gwillimbury Times in their coverage of the announcement.
