Biskaabiiyaang today announced an investment of $40,000 from York University’s Academic Innovation Fund to support the design of an Indigenous-led metaverse delivering Anishinaabe language and First Nation cultural competency programs within a virtual world.

Dr. Hovorka has provided outstanding leadership during her first term. She led the 2020 merger of the Faculty of Environmental Studies and the Department of Geography into the Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change and inaugurated new governance structures that brought their respective norms and cultures into a new, integrated whole.
Dr. Goodyer provided excellent leadership during her first term, in which the Lassonde School of Engineering has grown enrolments, its faculty complement, as well as research and teaching facilities.
An innovative and comprehensive SDGs-in-the-Classroom Toolkit has just been launched. It has been designed to assist York University faculty with their efforts to infuse the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their teaching and learning activities.
