During the 1992 - 1993 academic year, a significant part of the Centre’s work focused on consultation and in-house services supporting students, staff and faculty at York University.  However, CFR also worked on the planning and funding of the conference “Gender Issues and Refugees: Implications for Development”.  The Centre also supported the National Action Committee on the Status of Women in updating its statistical data on women in Canada.

This period marked several important dates for the York University; accordingly, the Centre hosted several celebrations.  In September, the Centre hosted a reception for Dr. Susan Mann, York University's new, and first woman, president.  During the following month, the Centre hosted a one-day celebration in honour of the Graduate Programme in Woman's Studies which was celebrating its thirtieth anniversary.  An additional celebration was hosted in honour of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Wolstoncraft's A Vindication of Women's Rights.

On February 11th, the Centre for Feminist Research celebrated Black History Month with a presentation featuring York alumna June Clark-Greenberg.  June Clark-Greenberg presented a slide show of her work and a discussion of “The Black Aesthetic."  The event was held at York Lanes, Room 305, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The year concluded  with a mini-conference on Women and the Furture of the Welfare State organized by Pat Evans.  The conference included a panel discussion with Shelia Neysmith, Ester Reiter, and Tanya das Gupta.
