Feminist Qualitative Data Analysis Workshop
Register HERE.
This workshop introduces a feminist approach to coding qualitative data for qualitative data analysis research design; coding ; to analysis. The workshop will start with a brief introduction of feminist methodologies around qualitative data analysis and then will focus on three  phases of qualitative data analysis (1) developing your coding strategy and aligning your coding approach to your choice of methods and research design; (2) codebook conceptualization and coding of interviews and (3) theme identification and analysis. The workshop will focus on the qualitative interviews but will also expand on the use and coding of non textual data; participatory and community-informed processes of coding as well as challenges and issues that may arise in different cases. The instructor will demonstrate coding through the use of Dedoose QDA software as well as different approaches to feminist data visualization and concept mapping. Participants will have the opportunity to engage through prompts, a worksheet and a Q&A.
No previous coding experience is needed.
Fees and donations will be donated to Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights (https://www.actioncanadashr.org).

Workshop Host: Dr. Mantha Katsikana, is Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Health, York University, working on the project "Urban Geographies of Abortion Care: Exploring Intersectional Barriers and Community-Based Support in the Greater Toronto Area" (SSHRC Insight Development Grant 2026).
