Convocation Ceremonies

Taking part in your convocation ceremony is a memorable occasion and we strongly encourage all graduating students to attend and celebrate this milestone with family and friends.

Here you will find information relevant to the ceremonies, including schedule, location, ticket information and more.

Your ceremony will be determined by the Faculty you will be graduating from as well as your degree and major. The Ceremony Search tool can be used to determine your ceremony and will be available here towards the winter term.

A summary of the Spring 2023 Convocation ceremony schedule will be available here towards the winter term.

Completing the RSVP form will let the University know you are attending your ceremony and will ensure your robe rental is arranged. When you RSVP, you will also be provided with guest tickets to your convocation ceremony.

Invitations are expected to be sent 4 to 6 weeks prior to your ceremony and will continue to be sent on an ongoing basis as graduates become eligible.

The number of guest tickets allotted to each graduand varies depending on the convocation ceremony. Please note that the graduand does not require a guest ticket to attend their convocation. The robe rental confirmation page acts as a student ticket to convocation.

Tickets must be downloaded from the links provided at the completion of the RSVP. Graduands may save the PDF document in order to e-mail the tickets to their guests. All tickets must be printed on a separate page of 8 ½” x 11” white paper. Each guest requires a ticket to be admitted and each ticket has a barcode and is unique.

Please note: Convocation and related events are Webcast live, videotaped, photographed and recorded. Your use of a ticket to Convocation confirms your willingness to appear in Webcasts, videotapes, photographs and recordings, and releases York University from all liability in connection therewith.
