If you are potentially eligible to graduate, then you will receive an electronic invitation to Convocation. Invitations will be sent in May.

Completing the RSVP form will let the University know you are attending your ceremony and will ensure your robe rental is arranged. When you RSVP, you will also be provided with guest tickets to your convocation ceremony.

Each graduand will be allotted 3 or 4 guest tickets, depending on ceremony location, that can be claimed at the time of RSVP. The graduand does not require a guest ticket to attend.

Tickets must be downloaded from the links provided at the completion of the RSVP. Graduands may save the PDF document and e-mail the tickets to their guests. All tickets must be printed on a separate page of 8 ½” x 11” white paper. Each guest requires a ticket to be admitted and each ticket has a unique barcode.

York will pause its COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate effective May 1, 2022 (May 4, 2022 for Osgoode Hall Law School students, faculty and staff). The requirement for daily health screening for those coming to our campuses is similarly paused effective May 1 (May 4, 2022 for Osgoode Hall Law School students, faculty and staff). However, community members should continue to monitor their health and not attend campus if they are feeling unwell. More information on York’s COVID-19 response can be found on the Better Together website.

To ensure the safety of graduands and their guests, convocation ceremonies will follow all York, municipal and provincial health and safety measures. In the event that it is necessary for the University to reinstate requirements for Proof of Vaccination, these protocols will apply to all those attending Convocation.

Please note: Convocation and related events are Webcast live, videotaped, photographed and recorded. Your use of a ticket to Convocation confirms your willingness to appear in Webcasts, videotapes, photographs and recordings, and releases York University from all liability in connection therewith.
