Postdoc Mark Terry spoke at the YorkU Sustainable Development Goals Day, hosted by the International Relations Student Association at York (IRSAY).
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Day, or the Global Day to Act for SDGs, takes place annually on September 25th, commemorating the day that the SDGs were adopted by the United Nations in 2015. The event raises awareness about the SDGs at York University and profiles initiatives that YorkU community members can join to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs at the local level.
Last year, Dr. Terry was nominated for the SDG Action Award, in the Visualiser category, for his work on the Youth Climate Report. At the event, he spoke on the Expert Panel, moderated by Althea Reyes of IRSAY. Other panelists included Professor Mark Winfield, Faculty of Environmental Studies; Jayce Chiblow, Research Assistant at Indigenous Environmental Justice Project; Emilia Khalil, Research Assistant at Indigenous Environmental Justice Project; and Sara Torrie, Organizer at Extinction Rebellion.
