Mathias Akueteh Borketey is an environmental health researcher with a background in chemistry, public health, and quantitative data analysis. He holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Ghana, where his research examined the relationships between air pollution exposure and cardio-respiratory health outcomes. His work focuses on environmental epidemiology, climate change and health, environmental exposures, health inequities, and evidence synthesis to support data-driven public health decision-making.
At the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research, Mathias will contribute to research examining the intersections of climate change, environmental exposures, population displacement, mental health, and health outcomes. His work will involve conducting literature and scoping reviews, managing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and leading the preparation of scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. He collaborates with multidisciplinary research teams to generate evidence that informs policy, strengthens adaptive capacity, and advances equitable health outcomes in vulnerable populations.
His research interests include environmental epidemiology, climate change and health, exposure science, health equity, and the application of advanced analytical approaches to address environmental and public health challenges in low- and middle-income countries.
