The YU-CARE Trainee Network is an association of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows studying aging from a variety of disciplines at York University. The Network exists to help students establish meaningful academic relationships with researchers in their field of interest, and provide workshops and events for learning and development purposes. Other intentions of the Network are to broaden interest and awareness of aging research, encourage multi-disciplinary research, and provide means for skill development.
Themes of Research Programs
There are four common themes among our research programs, including:
- Care practices, care work, and care delivery
- Aging policy and healthy aging promotion
- Cognitive neuroscience of aging
- Physiology and bio-mechanics of aging
Snapshot of Workshops & Events
In the past, YU-CARE Trainees have accepted abstracts from undergraduate and graduate students for a Multi-Disciplinary Perspectives in Aging Research Symposium. This provided students with an opportunity to share their aging-related research and develop a presentation of their papers for peers and faculty.
The YU-CARE Trainee Network has also hosted networking socials for students to mingle with peers and faculty.
