

There are four ways York students can participate in C4.
They differ from one another in timing, length, credits, and type of partner engagement.
See below to choose the right C4 journey for you. Students interested in either the 3.0 or 6.0 credit versions of C4 must apply through the link below. Students interested in the 1.0 version (Passion Project) can enroll directly in LE/ENG1600, without applying.

C4 Program Options
6.0: 24 weeks in School Year
C4 Odyssey 6.0
- This year-long course is student-driven, multi-disciplinary, and socially-engaged. It is for undergraduate students who want to own the whole process-from research to project management to outcomes. Teams of 5 to 10 students lead their own projects to address complex challenges that are pitched by partners and supported by on- and off-campus mentors.
3.0: 3 weeks in Summer or
12 weeks in School Year (Fall or Winter)
C4 Launchpad 3.0
- Undergraduates who are new to C4 work intensively over a semester on one big, complex, multi-disciplinary project, pitched by off-campus partners. Students are broken up into sub-teams and managed by C4 alumni and graduate students who are registered in the C4 Management program.
C4 Management 3.0
- This is a finishing program for C4 alumni and graduate students. Students are given the opportunity to lead a team of undergraduates who are registered in C4 Launchpad. Together, they will work intensively over a semester on one big, complex, multidisciplinary project, pitched by off-campus partners.
1.0: 6 weeks in Winter (bi-weekly)
C4 Passion Project 1.0
- This is an elective project course for students in any program, Faculty, and year of study. This project course allows students to work either individually or in small teams on a project related to a personal passion and culminating in a presentation at a demo fair. It provides an opportunity for students to get credit for exploring their personal passions, access to expert mentorship, and an opportunity to develop cross-university connections.
