Welcome to Calumet and Stong College!
The colleges are committed to helping students flourish and succeed while at university, both academically and personally. We provide warm and welcoming study spaces along with plenty of mentorship and leadership opportunities. All of the college staff are dedicated to supporting students as they learn, grow, and lead while at York.
For example, we provide direct support to a great many student clubs that represent various programs and departments within the Faculty of Health (e.g., Psychology, Nursing, Kinesiology, Global Health). Getting involved with these clubs is a great opportunity to meet fellow students with shared interests, and also ensure that your voice is heard within the university.
A number of our programs are dedicated to supporting students in their courses (e.g., Peer Assisted Study Sessions [PASS], the Course Representative Program), as they transition to university life, and when they begin to explore future careers. We are deeply invested in fostering important life skills among students, such as leadership (e.g., LEAD with purpose) and community engagement (e.g., Agents of Change).
