If you are an undergraduate student and require accommodations for a minimum of 30 nights, then Summer Residence is the right place for you.

The 2022 Summer Residence application is live! Applying by 11:59pm on Sunday, March 27 will improve your chances of securing a room in Summer Residence.

The 2022 Summer Residence program offers traditional dormitory and limited suite-style options. Both options have air conditioning, however the traditional dormitory does not have access to a kitchen.

York undergraduate students needing accommodation for at least 30 nights.

Current undergraduate students as well as newly-admitted undergraduate students who are enrolled in courses during the Summer Term are eligible to apply for Summer Residence. All applications are subject to availability. Priority will be given to applications for the entire summer period.

Rooms are typically available from early May to mid-August. Students living in Undergraduate Residence during the Fall-Winter Term will be able to stay in their current room until their Summer Residence room is available.

Bedrooms are furnished with a single bed, desk, bookshelf, chair, dresser and closet. Students must supply their own bed linens, pillow, towels and toiletries.

Students have access to a common lounge equipped with a television with basic cable. There are no in-room phones, however the option to subscribe to telephone service for an additional fee is possible. Students may order in-room cable TV for an additional fee.

Due to COVID-19 there may be restrictions on common lounges.

Basic cleaning service is provided in building common areas; however, residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms/suites and for cleaning up after themselves in all common areas.

Yes. Summer Residence has a laundry room with YU-card operated washers and dryers.

No. Students may purchase food at several campus food outlets. Students may keep a small refrigerator in their room and rental information can be provided upon request.

Applications typically launch in March of each year.
