Mahak is a fourth-year biomedical science and chemistry student with a keen interest in mathematical modelling of the life sciences. Under the supervision of Prof. Jude Kong, she is working on identifying predictors of the timing from the first COVID-19 case and deaths in long-term case homes across Ontario and testing for associations with the preparedness of health systems and government pandemic responses. Her research interests include infectious disease epidemiology and information visualization. Beyond research, Mahak is an avid learner, a dedicated community volunteer, and an aspiring polyglot.
