Pushpita Samina is a PhD student in health policy at McMaster University with more than ten years of experience working on tuberculosis (TB) projects in the Global South. Her research interests are in health technology assessment and creating blended financing models for tuberculosis (TB). Prior to joining her PhD program, Samina led the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bangladesh TB portfolio and designed and managed large-scale TB projects in Bangladesh. She is also a medical doctor and worked for almost ten years in global health in Tajikistan and the Southeast Asia region. Her thesis topic will include social investment and health technology assessment in the field of tuberculosis.
