Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Co-op & Career Education Communications, the Communications & Marketing Assistant participates in the planning, design, development, implementation, coordination, measurement, reporting, and ongoing maintenance of communications and marketing activities for the Co-op & Career Centre across York University.
The Communications & Marketing Assistant would be responsible for creating impactful content on owned channels like the website, social media, blog, digital screens, etc. Campaigns and projects throughout the year span a variety of audiences like prospective students, current students, staff/faculty and employers. It's a unique opportunity to practice creating content that is audience centric in it's design.
This position will also support high impact events and be a key player in developing communications and marketing activations within events that support goals & objectives. This is an opportunity to understand and execute engagement tactics that are measurable. The Communications & Marketing Assistant would be asked to report on the success and reflect on the improvements of each marketing activation they lead.

• Ability to write and edit web and social media content
• Ability to craft communications that reflect the diversity of the target audience
• Effective analytical skills to research and review
• Results oriented with the ability to think creatively, take initiative and be proactive
• Solid analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to obtain and relay information promptly and accurately

Additional Assets:
• Some experience with graphic design tools an asset (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Some experience with video editing tools an asset (e.g. Premiere Pro, Final Cut, After Effects).
