Drop-in Advising

In-Person Advising

In-person drop-in advising sessions are available by using QLESS or check in at the front desk at 103 Central Square. Drop-in advising is first-come, first-served. As there is high demand for advising at this time, try joining QLESS drop-ins right when the queue opens in the morning or again when it reopens in the afternoon.

The last advising drop-in session for the day will begin a half hour before the indicated end time.

Hours of Operation

Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (last meeting starts at 11:30a.m.) and 1:00 - 3:45 p.m. (last meeting starts at 3:30p.m.)

Monday, Tuesday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (last meeting starts at 11:30a.m.) and 1:00 - 3:45 p.m. (last meeting starts at 3:30p.m.)

Virtual Advising

Virtual drop-in advising via QLESS is available for Social Science majors seeking academic advice. As there is high demand for advising at this time, try joining QLESS drop-ins right when the queue opens in the morning or again when it reopens in the afternoon.

Join our Virtual Kiosk OR download the QLESS app on your smartphone from Google Play or the iTunes App Store. (Open the app and select "Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies")
Select the Social Sci, Communications & Media Studies Academic Advising queue.
Click Join Now
Fill out your name and phone number.
Fill in a short form regarding your student information. Add any notes for your advisor, including topics you’d like to discuss, and whether you prefer phone or Zoom.
You’ll receive a text message when an academic advisor is ready to see you.

Each drop-in session is about 15-30 minutes, first-come, first-served. The QLESS queue will close once it reaches capacity. Try again later or another day. Please note QLESS estimated wait times are approximate and actual time to be seen may vary depending on advisor availability and duration of each advising session.

Booked Appointments

Virtual and in-person drop-in advising is the best way to connect with an Academic Advisor at this time through the end of May. Booked appointments will resume later in the summer.
