We work with government/non-profit/businesses to facilitate positive change and strengthen communities in gender justice and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, children's rights and youth engagement, and mental health and substance use.
Job Description:
We are looking for an intern to assist in our communications needs. The role will primarily focus on promoting W2A's work through our social media accounts, developing and promoting our newsletter 2x/month, periodic blog posts on our website, and possibly developing an annual report and/or grant proposals. Additional communications activities may include support in training activities (virtually) and other logistics (setting up meetings, taking minutes, developing short reports/summaries of meetings).
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of social media and experience preparing and promoting organizational messaging using LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Instragram. Knowledge and experience using Linktree, Canva, Adobe, and Slack.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently but collaboratively through Zoom (and other virtual platforms). Strong commitment to social and gender justice, inclusion, and equity.
- Ability to actively express ideas in writing
Additional Assets:
- Ability to read, write, and speak French considered an asset. Experience in grant writing. Experience in delivering training.
