Step 1: Attend an Information Session

Before submitting your Expression of Interest (EOI) form we strongly encourage all prospective applicants to attend an Information Session. These sessions provide detailed information about the program structure, application steps and required documentation, and give you an opportunity to ask questions and clarify details for the application process.

Step 2: Check Your Eligibility

To be considered for the IEP 2026 Admission, you need to meet the eligibility requirement of at least one program: Foundation Program and/or Certificate program.

Step 4: Expression of Interest

Submit the EOI form. Based on the information provided in your EOI form, qualified candidates will be invited to apply for University admission. Only these invited applicants may then proceed to complete the formal university application and then both the applications and documentation provided will be assessed and candidates selected - when accepted you will receive a form offer from the University in the Summer.

You must upload all supporting documents required to allow the admission committee to assess your experience and eligibility.

  • Submitting an EOI form does not guarantee admission. Only complete applications will be reviewed by the admissions committee.
  • It may take us up to 4-8 weeks to process your application.
  • Your file must be complete for review before a committee can move forward with assessing your application and issuing a decision. Missing documents will cause delays in the assessment of your file.
  • We may follow up with you for additional information - please monitor your email and respond promptly to any messages from IEP@yorku.ca.
  • We also may require more information about your transcripts and courses - and will follow up directly with you.

Step 5: Apply to York University

If you are identified as eligible to apply, you will be invited to complete a University Application Form.

Eligible applicants will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) via email. This invitation includes instructions for the next steps. Invited applicants will apply to York University as a Visiting Student using the Undergraduate Application Form.

  • If you are invited to apply to the University, you will need to upload these documents again through York’s admissions portal and provide official copies. Uploading them now helps us expedite the process.
  • The Office of Admissions and the IEP office sends official communication about your application via email. It is important that you open, read and act (if required) upon receipt of an email from Admissions and/or the IEP program office.
  • Completion of the application form does not guarantee your admission to the University, all applications are reviewed and assessed to determine eligibility to apply to the University and eligibility for program acceptance. Applicants will be notified when they are to start their application to the University and notified formally of their acceptance to the program and any conditions related to acceptance.
