Sound Booth

The MLC’s sound booth has sound insulation, a built-in desk and recording equipment. YorkU’s linguistics professors and students use our sound booth for their research projects, while language professors and students use the space for making course materials, audio files, voice overs, audio narrative, broadcasting and podcasts. All are welcome to book through the form linked below.

Rules & Regulations


  • No food and drink are permitted in the sound booth.
  • Maximum 2 people at a time.
  • Do not change the settings on the recording equipment.
  • If you require assistance, please speak to a staff member in the MLC and they will assist you.

Instructions


  • To record your audio, open Audacity on the computer. For information on how to use Audacity for recording, see the instructions.
  • Ensure that you export your audio file and save it to your Microsoft One Drive/personal USB key/F or X drive before logging off.
