Dear York University community, 

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and members of the global public on the passing today of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. 

Queen Elizabeth II tirelessly dedicated her life to public service around the world, a task she performed duteously and with care for more than 70 years.  

She made a significant impact in many areas, including supporting the modernization of the Royal Family and the Commonwealth.  

In recognition of the death of Canada’s Head of State and in accordance with the Federal directive, flags on the York University Keele and Glendon Campuses will be flying at half-mast from sunset today until the day of the memorial service of Her Majesty the Queen.

Je tiens à exprimer mes sincères condoléances à la famille royale et aux membres du public mondial à l'occasion du décès de Sa Majesté la reine Elizabeth II survenu aujourd'hui.

La Reine Elizabeth II a consacré inlassablement sa vie au service public dans le monde, une tâche qu'elle a accomplie avec diligence et dévouement pendant plus de 70 ans. 

Elle a eu une influence considérable dans de nombreux domaines, notamment en appuyant la modernisation de la famille royale et du Commonwealth. 

Pour souligner le décès de la chef d'État du Canada et conformément à la directive fédérale, les drapeaux des campus Keele et Glendon de l'Université York seront en berne à partir du coucher du soleil aujourd'hui jusqu'au jour du service commémoratif de Sa Majesté la Reine.
