Office Copy Paper Program

This bulletin is to advise the community of a change to the current office copy paper vendor.

Background

York University has been using Novexco Inc. - Vendor of Record (“VOR”) for the supply of office copy paper through the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (“MGCS”) for the past four (4) years.

The current contract has now expired and the MGCS has re-tendered for both office copy paper and office supplies.

Selected Vendor

After a detailed analysis and review, Procurement Services has recommended Corporate Express Inc. (“Staples”) as the new office copy paper vendor via the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace collaborative contract. There has been an increase of 10% in the price for the standard FSC Certified Copy Paper, White, Letter Size, 92 Bright, 20 lbs., 8 1/2" x 11", 500 Sheets/Pack, 10 Packs/Carton under the new contract.

The term of the Agreement shall be until April 10, 2018, with additional one (1) year optional extension. The price shall remain firm until April 10, 2018.

Next Steps

Staples is currently a Sm@rtbuy vendor with a punch-out redirected to their shopping site for office supplies.

The Staples shopping site has been revised to offer office copy paper only.

The office copy paper commodity will be removed from the Sm@rtbuy Novexco site.

Effective September 1, 2017 all office copy paper purchases must be directed to Staples, using the Sm@rtbuy platform.
