Brampton couple takes community work to next level through York U’s BEd in Technological Education program
The B.Ed technological education program equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to teach in high schools across the province. It’s also designed to encourage trade professionals to combine their passion for their sector with their desire to teach.
Program Overview
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Technological Education is a full-time, professional degree program. Students are engaged five days per week, combining coursework at York’s Keele Campus with school-based placements.
Class schedules typically run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Graduates will be qualified to teach Grades 9 to 12 (Intermediate–Senior level) in one of the following technological subject areas:
- Communication Technology
- Computer Technology
- Construction Technology
- Green Industries
- Hairstyling & Aesthetics
- Health Care
- Hospitality and Tourism
- Manufacturing Technology
- Technological Design
- Transportation Technology
Note: For eligible students, Technological Education may be taken as one teachable subject at the Intermediate–Senior level, with the option to add a second teaching subject.
