Job Description:

The Community Outreach & Communications Coordinator (Placement Student) will support the development and delivery of Vitanova’s outreach and communication strategies. This role is ideal for a student seeking hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, community engagement, and program promotion.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a program related to Social Work, Community Development, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic digital content creation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse communities in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Creative, adaptable, and eager to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for community service

Additional Assets:

  • Experience with graphic design, photography, or video editing.
  • Familiarity with website management or basic WordPress/Canva skills.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit, social services, or community-based organizations.
  • Multilingual ability, especially in languages spoken within the local community.
  • Previous volunteer or work experience in outreach, communications, or event planning.
  • Understanding of issues related to mental health, addictions, and community well-being.
  • Access to a laptop and reliable internet connection.
  • Flexibility to attend community events outside regular office hours when needed.
