Join us on our journey to the moon. Get ready for NASA’S next planned Artemis Moon Mission in 2024 by building your own hydraulic lunar-rover. Learn how astronomers and astrophysicists determine the composition of planets millions of light-years away, and see the stars at home with circuit constellations.

Flight Academy

Date: July 24 to 28, 2023
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm

This camp starts off with a bang! Learn about different chemical reactions and how we can harness their potential energy to create thrilling displays of engineering. Concoct your own rocket fuel recipe while making bottle rockets and use the engineering design process to plan and build your own glider.

Human Biology

Date: July 31 to August 4, 2023
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm

Campers will take a journey into the science of the body, learning about human biology while making models of lungs and bones! Explore the transmission of signals in our nervous system, construct a moving muscle model to learn about the musculoskeletal system, test out a spirometer to learn about the respiratory system, and much more!

Understanding how diseases manifest in our body first requires us to grasp how our body function under normal conditions. Join us as we explore the different types of pathogens and how scientists study the life cycles of these pathogens in order to understand how to fight against them. This course focuses on the life cycle, current research, and difficulties associated with the treatment of a virus.

Pharmacology

Date: July 17 to 21, 2023
Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Medicine has the ability to stop, cure or prevent diseases and illnesses. While we use medicine every day to treat our symptoms, the science behind how medications function and how they are designed is not as commonly understood. This course will investigate techniques used in drug preparation, administration and absorption in the human body. Join us as we learn the four stages involved when medication is taken, and explore the different types of medications available.

Neurobiology

Date: July 24 to 28, 2023
Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

The study of the human brain, arguably the most complex organ of the body, is a relatively new discipline in the realm of medicine. In this course, we will learn how the brain works and how much there still is to learn. The brain has shown us how we learn, how our diet affects our mental capacity, and taught us methods to cope with stress. Study the structure of the brain, learn about the important functions of the brain, and investigate how stress affects our learning and memory. Students will also explore topics in the anatomy behind emotions and other biologically-driven behaviours.

Biochemistry

Date: July 31 to August 4, 2023
Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Students will delve into the worlds of biology and chemistry where they’ll explore topics such as supercooling, nucleic acids and antibiotics! They’ll extract DNA, make hot ice, measure pH and much more.
