Carole Malo was appointed to the Board on February 27, 2019 and serves on the Land and Property Committee.
Ms. Malo is a global finance and business executive with over 25 years of experience in infrastructure and energy development and financing and Public Private Partnerships across Canada and internationally. She has a diverse experience across a range of industries (financial, infrastructure, energy, construction and engineering). She has held senior roles in both the private sector (Co-head, Global infrastructure, RBC, London; Vice President and European Head, SNC-Lavalin, London) and the public sector (Director, Investment Projects and Affiliates, Hydro Quebec, Montreal; Vice-president, Project Finance, Infrastructure Ontario, Toronto). Carole runs her private consultancy practice providing independent and strategic advice to private and public sector clients and agencies as well as First Nations in connection with the procurement and financing of large capital projects in Ontario, Quebec and across Canada.
Carole is currently on the Humber River Hospital Board. She has served on boards, strategic and finance committees of several for-profit and not-for-profit organizations over the last 2 decades including the National Energy Board, the Hamilton Utilities Corporation Board, TOK Transit Advisory Board, the United Way Cabinet/ Women Gaining Ground Co-Chair, the Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto and the Thornhill Golf and Country Club.
Carole holds a BCom (Honors) in Finance from the Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Montreal, is a CFA Charterholder, holds a Canadian Securities License, is a Diversity 50 “Most Board ready’ Candidate and a Fellow in Board Governance with the Canadian Board Diversity Council, earned several certifications in Board Governance and regulatory/administrative tribunals.
Carole is an active member with several Women Associations in her field including the International Women Forum, Women in Infrastructure, Women in Energy and Women United to promote the role of Women in Senior management positions as well as on Boards.
