Common Format for New or Revised Calendar Copy
Full calendar copy for proposed new curricular initiatives or academic regulations is to be approved by Faculty Council before being presented to Senate ASCP for review. The calendar copy should be submitted in electronic form as a Word document (as an e-mail attachment is the most efficient), formatted to include all headings, cross references and detail that is to be included in the undergraduate calendar. An example of calendar copy for a new curricular initiative is listed below.
Calendar copy for proposed changes to existing degree or certificate programs, or academic regulations are approved by Faculty Council (or a Committee empowered to act on behalf of Council) and submitted to Senate ASCP as electronic copy. The copy provided should contain the full text of both the current calendar copy and the proposed new calendar copy in side-by-side columns. Proposed deletions and additions to calendar copy should be clearly featured. For example, deletions from current calendar copy could be written in bold and crossed out in the text (e.g.). Proposed additions to the calendar copy could be written in bold and underlined or written in bold and italicized (e.g. sample of addition to existing calendar copy, or sample of addition to existing calendar copy). Samples of calendar copy for a proposed revision to an existing degree or certificate program are listed below.
