Students are a vibrant and valuable part of our CERLAC community, who are deeply integrated into our priorities and decision-making processes.

York graduate students from across the university come together to direct our Student Caucus, which runs their own events and initiatives and leads an international Graduate Student Conference.

Many graduate students choose to complete our recently reinvigorated graduate diploma in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. At the heart of this diploma is a new core course ANTH 5300: Convergences, Disparities, and Faultlines: Research in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, which will first be taught in Summer 2022 by Dr. Honor Ford-Smith (EUC).

Please remember that CERLAC gives out over $30K in student support each year through our rich suite of sponsored prizes and awards to amplify the incredible and important work our students do. Some are region or theme specific; whereas others are open. Some are designed to recognize excellent academic work; others directly support fieldwork.
