Staff members in the Faculty of Education were recognized for their years of service at the Faculty’s annual holiday lunch held at Pioneer Village this past December.
Dean Lyndon Martin thanked the staff members for their years of service and acknowledged their positive contributions and dedication to the Faculty of Education and York University over the years.
The following employees were recognized for their years of service:
Mary Clabassi, practicum assistant, Office of Academic Programs; Jason Chung, collaboration and projects administrator; Judith Davidson, student programs assistant; Brenda Fernandes, financial officer; Yolanda Reid, administrative secretary; Kate Singh, manager, Office of the Dean; and, Adam Trent, director, Information Technology Services.
In addition to being recognized for her years of service, Mary Clablassi was also presented with the inaugural Emily Tjimos Award for Service Excellence, established in recognition of Emily Tjimos, a staff member in the Dean’s Office who passed away in 2015. The peer-driven award recognizes a staff member in the Faculty who demonstrates exemplary customer service and support to students, faculty and staff at the highest level.
“It is wonderful that Mary was the recipient of this award as she more than exemplifies all of the qualities that Emily brought to her work”, said Lyndon Martin, Dean of the Faculty of Education. “It is also great to see so many of our staff honoured for their important and valued contributions to the Faculty over many years.”
